This book is a blend of part memoir and part practical guide and I refer to it as a 'Slow Book.' Within these pages, I'm inviting you to join me on a journey drawn from the pages of my journals. Together, we'll explore some of the benefits of not only my move to Italy, but slowing down after a full-on work-life and career.
But first, let me share: My life wasn't always like this. Before my move to Italy, I was drowning in the chaos of a life that seemed at times, devoid of purpose. I had spent the better part of my career as a self-employed businesswoman, working long hours, and filling my home with all the symbols of what's conventionally seen as a 'successful life.' Then, one day, an email arrived, presenting me with a choice: to continue as I was or to embark on a journey to create a life of genuine contentment as an artist.
Together, within the pages of 'Creating a Life of Art in Italy,' we'll explore the rewards of embracing life at a slower pace.

If you enjoyed my first book, (which has been revised) you’re in for a treat—Book Two dives deeper into the quiet simplicity of Italian culture and experiences that shaped my journey in Italy.

You'll find glimpses into the ups and downs of life as a studio artist and occasional challenges that come with creating a new life in a country that feels like it was meant for artists, dreamers, and anyone yearning to slow down and soak up calmness. Whether it's from the time-worn textures of the buildings, or from the markets brimming with fresh produce, to the old-world charm of cobblestone streets, I’ve aimed to capture the heart of Italy and, hopefully, a bit of its soul.
